What candidates should know

The MH SET is an eligibility test and is conducted for candidates aspiring to become Assistant Professors in Maharashtra and Goa. The examination is not a recruitment drive but rather a qualification assessment. Candidates are required to carry the printed admit card, a valid photo ID, and two passport-size photographs to the exam center.

The exam consists of two papers with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and is scheduled for October 25, 2026. Following the exam, results will be declared which will indicate eligibility for assistant professor positions in universities and colleges within the state. However, passing the SET does not grant eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship or other UGC qualifications.
