Exam Score Calculator with Negative Marking

Compare your responses with the answer key, then enter how many you got right and wrong. The calculator applies the exam's marking scheme to give your raw score and accuracy.

How to use it with an answer key

When the commission releases the provisional answer key with your response sheet, count the questions where your marked option matches the key (correct) and where it differs (wrong). Leave unattempted questions out. Enter both numbers here to get your raw score; normalised scores for multi-shift exams are published later by the commission.

Is guessing worth it?

With −1/4 marking, a pure guess between four options breaks even on average, and eliminating even one option makes it profitable. With −1/2 (SSC) or −2/3 (UPSC GS), guess only when you can rule out at least two options.

Frequently asked questions

What is the negative marking in SSC CGL Tier 1?
Each correct answer earns 2 marks and each wrong answer deducts 0.5 marks; unattempted questions carry no penalty.
Does this give my normalised score?
No. It gives the raw score. Multi-shift exams such as SSC and RRB apply normalisation, which the commission publishes with the result.
